Can my faincee see my wedding dress that I want to get in a picture?

I don't know the tradition on this, but my sister said, NO!! He can't see it until the wedding. I havn't ever heard of it, that doesn't mean it's not true, but I always thought it was just, you can't see the bride before the wedding. But now its the wedding dress too!!!! I am so confused.

The tradition of not seeing the bride (including the dress) is there to create a ‘surprise’ for the groom when the doors open and you walk in, he will be in awe of how georgeous you look. Many brides want that moment to be so special, and feel that if he is able to see part of ‘the look’ it might ruin the magnitude of the moment. on the other hand… even the tradition of not seeing the bride was at first used in arranged marriages. Where the groom may have NEVER seen the bride before. now a days it’s perfectly acceptable for a bride and groom to do pictures etc before the ceremony as this provides less of a wait for guests between the ceremony and reception.
